I had this random idea the other day.
Banks and other financial institutions should hire micro-biologists and put them to work.
A team of individuals well versed in the subjects of computer science, micro-biology and well general finance. Such a team should be able to come up with simulations that would then be able to showcase:
But overall, I suspect that economic contagion spreads a lot like any other contagion. Predictive analysis and all the benefits that one can derive is just one element. Making money off of such a solution is another lucrative aspect.
On a separate note, I'm thinking: Business Continuity and Risk Management have taught me good things. But sometimes I wonder how they ended up rewiring my brain. Connecting economics to microbiology. hmm.
