I had a great 8.5 years at RIM. My stint at RIM has now come to an end as part of the announced layoffs this year.
Almost everything that I know about Technology can be attributed to my time spent at RIM. It's one thing to learn and soak up knowledge and information about Technology. It's an altogether different thing, when you are leveraging that knowledge in order to solve real problem. That's what I did at RIM for almost my entire time there. Working on a variety and mix of diverse technical solutions. Supporting and running mission critical system.
I kept on progressing through different roles at RIM. Working across various domains and departments.
As with everything, all good things must come to an end.
I hope that the new product is a hit. And that the ideas that I helped engineer, do see the light of the day (e-collaboration).
As for me, I'm going to take some time off and reset these batteries and then plot my next move. I need a break. After all, I've been working full-time (in Technology) ever since I was 17!
